Congratulations to our men's foil team who have just come 4th in the team event today. They beat Israel in the L16 then Germany in the L8; lost to Poland then lost 45-42 to Russia for the bronze. Fantastic result - good work team.

Were Germany black carded? They don't appear on the tableau or on the final classification.

Curious! Can't think of another explanation.

Looking at the MFT rankings it makes GBR very much "the best of the rest". The top 8 are into the 200+ points (though USA are a bit adrift). Then comes GBR followed by Canada (and 64 of Canada's points are from the PanAmericans)

It will take some doing, but with the strength of MF at the moment, and a good amount of self belief, then qualification by right for 2012 is certainly within range.

They beat Israel 45-36 then Germany 45-38. The Germans walked out so were disqualified as they did not complete their matches for placings.

A really good result against Germany - how strong was their team? And why did they walk out? It sounds very exciting!

If the individuals are anything to go by - Joppich (ranked 4th), Kleibrink (5th), Wessels (162nd).
