Update i had from yesterday (Men Sabre 50+ i think)

Barry Coulter unfortunately didn't make the cut after the pooles (although did beat the best Italian in the pooles!)

Carl Morris went out in the L32, and qas 5th seed after the pooles.

Chris (Prevett?) went out 10/9 in the L16

Richard Bonehill came 3rd!!

------------------------------------------------------------

All i have heard fom today is that Silvia Earl was into the L8 of the over 60 Sabre. There was also an 87 year old competing in the same catagory - how good is that!?

Thank you, Frog. Probably the lady I met at the European Individual Competition in 2007 at St Gallen, Switzerland. She had just driven up from the south of France. Quite amazing!

And well done to Richard Cohen (gold) and Peter Baron (bronze) in yesterday's men's sabre event. Couple of legendary stop hits from Richard in the final which left his American opponent looking confusedly at his guard.

Thanks PMI I had a great time and am still doing star jumps....in my head. Sorry i nearly gave you all heart attacks in the final; being 7:9 down in a match to 10 hits in the world champ final is NOT A GOOD FEELING!!!

I bet it's not as bad though as losing 10-9 having been 9-7 up in the final!

Congratulations.

Many congratulations to all the medal winners and the whole GB team.

Yet again it's the Vets who are showing the rest of GB fencing how it's done :-)

Brilliant...
