I was recalling this morning a comedy version of this song I did whilst at school many years ago and thought I'd make a fencing version in between lectures this morning. Here it is to to the tune of I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday. All comments and suggestions for altered and additional verses please!

I Wish I Could Be Fencing Everyday

When the sabreurs come to town,
In the bar they can be found,
Drinking all night but still fencing the next day.
Despite having had a tipple,
They still through-cut to nipple,
Making you scream the loudest of the day.

{Chorus}
Well I wish I could be fencing everyday,
When the kids start winning and the speed slowly fades away
Oh I wish I could be fencing everyday,
So let the blades all clash this Christmas.

When the epee hits the floor,
The fencer he does roar,
Cause the referee said it wasn’t touche.
Swear words did reach my ear,
Crap, fool, idiot I do hear,
Followed swiftly by a big black card from the DT.

{Chorus}
Well I wish I could be fencing everyday,
When the kids start winning and speed slowly fades away
Oh I wish I could be fencing everyday,
So let the blades all clash this Christmas.

When we’re charging down the piste,
Like a savage beast,
Looking for ways to gain the right of way.
On the lunge the breeches part,
The beat attack is parried quarte,
The reposte hits and the fight is all over.

{Chorus}
Well I wish I could be fencing everyday,
When the kids start winning and speed slowly fades away
Oh I wish I could be fencing everyday,
So let the blades all clash this Christmas.

Why don’t you fence a bout this Christmas?

Pretty good :D

Not sure you've got enough syllables in the last lines of the verses, but some of the rhyming is good.

Contender for Christmas No1? Or at least post of the month?

I'm currently in negotiations to sign Madonna to do it after Die Another Day. Should hopefully available at all good music shops and dodgy online retailers sometime soon. Then again, hopefully I will be very rich sometime soon.

I actually dabble in sound engineering for bands so if someone is willing to sing it for me, i'll do the rest...but I can't sing! Any volunteers, please send a stamped adressed envelope to:

hehe sounds good! i love christmas songs! i feel all festive at the moment, mainly because i had windband practice today and we were playing all the christmas songs ready for the concert next week, and we were playing i wish it could be christmas everyday

that song is like christmas in a box, it truly means xmas 4 me @ my school, mainly because we have played it every year for about 5 years, but it just sounds bril, we are so loud!

the song was banned by the head, because we always send people back into lesons really rowdy because of the song! but we are playing it! i convinced the music teacher!

That is class. I'm gonna be walking round singing that now.

Pure genius. Definately worth post of the month I think.

As I was driving this evening I was listening to Radio 1 with scott mills doing his thing about choosing the last song to play. It ended up being Michael Jackson - Beat It. I was thinking about fencing at the time and thought ah ha! This could be my next project! Maybe coming soon.......depending how much work I need to do over christmas!
