Excuse my ignorance, but what is a "blade bend limited to 1cm (currently 2cm) + use of Mangiarotti (mini-epee) point"?

Mangiarotti? Huh? Mini-epee? Huh?

I'm all confuddled!

The maximum curvature of a foil blade is currently 2cm from dead straight - this is being reduced. The new oil tip will have two springs, like a small verion of an epee tip.

So not many changes for sabre then, Few and looks like alot of the foil recommendtions got turned down ie making the bib a target. Not sure if decreasing the bendiness of a foill is a good idea.

I understand the bit baout the curve of the blade, it's the 'Mangiarotti (mini-epee) point' which got me stuck. Is there a different point in epee then?

I think that epee points have to travel a certain distance before a hit is indicated, whereas foil lights show up immediately.

A foil tip is a closed circuit that opens with the hit.

Epee is an open circuit that closes when a hit is made.

The links show animations of how they both work.
