Scottish Fencing is running a one week residential youth training camp in the excellent Inverclyde Sports Centre in Largs from Monday 11th July until Friday 15th July. The camp is open to all fencers aged 13 to 18 who are current members of Scottish Fencing and those with appropriate membership from other NGBs (Social membership is not sufficient).

Staff will comprise a Lead Coach for each weapon, a Strength & Conditioning Coach and female chaperones. All our staff are highly qualified and look forward to delivering great training:

Foil - Don McKenzie
Epee - Jamie Miller
Sabre - Phil Carson
Strength & Conditioning - Stan Stoodley

All of this will be delivered to members of Scottish Fencing at a subsidized cost of £250 for the week, including full board from Sunday dinner to Friday lunch - this is excellent value! For non-Scottish Fencing members the course is £376.

This is a residential course with a week’s programme and the cost is fixed, but even for fencers who are unable to do the whole week, this still represents fantastic value.

There are a limited number of places so please apply as soon as possible. The closing date for applications is Friday 17th June. You can apply on-line via the Scottish Fencing website. (details here tomorrow)

Members of the Scottish UK Schools Games Team and reserves, and Scottish Elite should apply separately through Don McKenzie ( don.a.mckenzie at btinternet.com )

It is the responsibility of the fencer’s parent or guardian to deliver the fencer to the venue at the start of the course, and collect the fencer from the venue on completion.

Paypal may not be sorted for a few days. May I ask that you're patient; it'll all be up and running very shortly and I'll post again when everything's ready.
