I've been looking around for info on Olympic qualification and come up a bit short. Can anybody help me out?

I know we still have to wait until the Zonal qualifiers are over but apart from that we should know teams right?

I've read it's the top 4 ranked teams and then the next highest ranked from each zone (AF / AM / AO / EU). So as it stands it would go something like...

Men's Foil
Top 4: ITA, CHN, GER, FRA
Zone tops: EGY, USA, CHN, RUS

Women's Foil
Top 4: ITA, RUS, KOR, POL
Zone tops: EGY, USA, KOR, FRA

That sound about right?

Cool - following that it looks like the teams are set. I'm pretty much assuming that the 8 host nation places will be used to add GB into the mix :)

As it stands, I'd guess we'd use 7 of the 8 for sending MF, WF and WE teams (Richard having already secured a berth). Based on recent form, out of Jon Willis for ME, Louise Bond-Williams for WS and James Honeybone for MS, I'd guess the last berth would go to Jon.

We're only speculating until we find out the results from the Zonals, some discussion here:

I reckon no chance of WE team though, seriously.
