Point Control is a new series of training days which have been established to provide high quality epee coaching for seniors, juniors and cadets through a series of friendly and inclusive training days.

This is a unique opportunity to enjoy high quality and cost effective coaching to supplement and support your club training in a non-partisan environment. Sessions are targeted at committed fencers of all standards who will benefit from learning alongside competitive fencers in a wider group than they will normally meet week to week at their club sessions.

You will need to bring a willingness to learn and the motivation to work!

The first day is on the 23rd February 2013 at Eltham Collage School London

Our initial line-up comprises some of UKs leading epee coaches:

Facilitator
Jon Willis, facilitator – GB’s no1 ranked epeeist
Double A Grade winner and Haverstock Training Camp organiser, Jon brings masses of practical experience of international fencing. He will be running a number of key sessions throughout the day, don't miss his footwork workout!

Coaches
Andy Pavaday, from Haverstock Fencing Club (organiser)
Andy Pavaday is a level five coach in all three weapons, having completed his BFA Hungarian based Diploma. He is a natural coach - calm, detailed and very patient. Andy coaches at Brixton Fencing Club on Wednesdays.
Neale Thomas, from LTFC and Tiger Swords
Since Neale qualified through the FIE coaching scheme he has been instrumental helping young epeeists qualify for the international circuit. He is also the father and coach of Gareth Thomas, currently ranked no 5 in GB.
Kamil Golisz from Brixton Fencing Club
Head Coach at Brixton Fencing Club, he develops fencers from novices to top ranked cadets and juniors. He sent two fencers to the World Championships, and is well placed to repeat the experience in 2013 with fencers ranked 2nd, 7th and 8th in Juniors, and 2nd and 4th in Cadets.
Pavel Rynes from Whitgift School
Head Coach at Whitgift School, Pavel is a highly valued coach at British Fencing's National Academy.
Each coach will be responsible for no more than 8 fencers, and will provide each with a one-to-one lesson during the day, to enable this places are limited to 32 fencers on the day.
Details of the training schedule (which will not be for the faint hearted!) will be released shortly but includes:

Footwork
Skills workshops

Delighted to say John Ince Chairman of Haverstock Fencing Club is joining us on this training day.

Our aim is to provide intensive training, and fencers will have five senior épéeists between 32 fencers: Jon Willis, Neale Thomas, Kamil Golisz, Pavel Rynes, and organiser Andy Pavaday.

This day will particularly be of interest to those attending the Europeans in Budapest, we have most of the team attending; as well as a handful of seniors...

There are just three places available now - so not to be missed!
