After a really good time at the Age Groups I thought I'd dip my toe further into Veteran events and I'm considering going to Terni for this.

Is there anyone else going and can we use this thread to share advice on all things related?

Thanks very much for a speedy response. I may take you up on that offer when we get closer to the day.

Apparently someone has nicked the internet antennae at the sports hall hence the lack of tweets and internet information. Have no idea if they will get it up an running

GB Vets end up with 13 medals. Richard Cohen won Bronze today.

Not sure where GB are on the medal table, but seems good results to me.

The great thing is people doing what they enjoy and are also good at.

Keep it going GB Vets.

I have not found a report on the British fencing web site. Is there one?
There were over 80 GB fencers in attendance and European medals won and fought hard for.
However, I will look again I might have missed the updates.

Whilst it would be good to see some recognition of their efforts, probably the reason there is no mention is that it was not a British Fencing selected representative team.

True, it wasn't. The Europeans individuals is open to all over 40 years old. However this does not mean to say it is not worth mentioning. The competition is fierce and to medal at this event is hard, possibly even harder than the Worlds which is a selection event. We are there to fence for Britain and all of us are paid up members of British fencing.

I hope that this isn't a sign of things to come, particularly with so many of our Vets winning medals in 'the wrong weapon'. Well done to everyone, and what a shame that BF don't see this huge effort as worthy of celebration .....
