View Full Version : Here are the forum changes

I have added buttons on the top with links to some useful resources. (Especially UK clubs)
Also I have edited the forum areas to allow pictures to be inserted directly into the post. This is a really great feature if used sensibly.
Some guides:
Pictures must not be over 250pix wide.
Pictures must not be of anything offensive. (See guide for more info)
Donít put in pictures that are irrelevant to you post or the thread.

If people abuse this but sticking in hundreds of huge pictures then I will remove thier ability to do so.

Here is how you do it:
Find a picture on the internet ( www.google.com go to images search, advanced search, small images, and then the picture you are looking for ie- fencing, then click on the image you like. The image will appear at the top of the page in the centre click see image alone)
Then copy the link (highlight it and right click copy!) to the picture you have found so :http://fencing/images/chicken.com

Then in your post just bellow the icons in vb code click the IMG button, a popup will appear. Paste the link to your picture into the pop up box and then the image should appear in your post.

Have fun!!!

If this site expands much more (results, ranking lists, rules... etc.etc), the BFA site is going to virtually redundent...

Really nice job - well done :)

-15th May 2003, 12:47
right lets see if i can get this to work.

-15th May 2003, 13:18
What looking good while fencing or posting pictures in the forum.

-15th May 2003, 13:51
So in the part for UK clubs, do you intend to put a list of links? I noticed if I nlook in Edinburgh for example, it takes me to the SF website, which is useless to say the least, and certainly doesn't have a link to my club (or any others for that matter)

If you do intend to put a lisdt of links, then let me take this oportunity to pass ours on:

Based in Edinburgh, Scotland.

I am not sure where we would find a comprehensive list of links to Scottish Clubs. If we asked Scottish fencing I am not sure they would be very forthcoming!

Anyone any ideas?

-15th May 2003, 14:39
Both, though that's not me in the pic (far to much movement to be me) that's MR ******* and mr ******** at the Inter Services at RAF Cosford

-15th May 2003, 20:32
That's very cool!

Lets give it a go.... this is the latest picture of me and my club in the papers (yay! We were in them again! :rolling: )

*crosses fingers*

-15th May 2003, 20:34
Darn just takes you to the page.... oh well, I'll get the hang of it.... eventually (but to feel free to look at the latest articles anyway :) )

-15th May 2003, 21:37

-15th May 2003, 22:03

-15th May 2003, 22:06

"I WILL, I WILL, I WILL catch up "

They may be some help, though I don't know if they actually keep track of that sort of thing.

Other sites that have some sort of list of clubs, ours (rcpfc.co.uk) and fencing.net are not too bad for that...

-16th May 2003, 19:16
Whoops, drinking and going on the net is never advisable!!!

I've done it more than once! And the posts are normally not great (and normally not coherant either :) ).

-16th May 2003, 19:30
I shall have to ensure that I stay off the rum tonight :)

-16th May 2003, 19:33
Drinking and forgeting to log off is worse, especily when the phone bill arives

-16th May 2003, 19:48
That's why I don't pay by time!

(actually, it just turns out cheeper because of the amount of time I spend online)

-16th May 2003, 19:54
We've noticed how much time you spend on-line, do you do anything else with your free time? (apart from fencing)

-16th May 2003, 20:30
Ummmn, I write things. Don't I Moose? ;)

-17th May 2003, 06:06
Yeah, she writes stuff, and she's VERY good at it too.

I seem to spend all my time either Fencing, working or messing about on the computer. What a life

-17th May 2003, 12:22
Thanks Moose! :)

See you've reached 200! Well done! (I'm starting to get scared now, you're after my place!!!!)

Hudson, you look like you're about to hit 400! I wish I could stay on here all day catching up, but I have a social life to be involved in :) (no really, I do! :rolling: )

-17th May 2003, 12:29
I'll belive you hundreds wouldn't. Me i've just come in from 3 hours sunbathing. NICE

-17th May 2003, 12:34
No really, I'm going out for pizza with friends! In about.... 10 minutes. So technically I should be running about the house rushing to get ready... but I can't be bothered with all that fuss.

So I'm getting my fencing forum fix instead.

-17th May 2003, 12:39
God help you if you every can't get your fix, have to start a group Fencing Forum Anon

-17th May 2003, 14:37
Mwahahah, I'm in 3rd place at the moment, 2nd here I come :)

I sometimes have a life, it usually happens when I have managed to wangle a day off work. Tho post fencing pissups are usually fun, especially if my coach has been drinking :)
