Hello oh friendly mods and admins.

Would it be possible to allow me to change my status now as I'm sure I have passed any post limit in place for such things :)

Thanks in advance :)

How does the states change - I'd like a funky new status as well ?

ths has been posted somewhere else aswell i think.

In your user control panel click on edit profile, then in there somewhere you should have a bnox for custom user status text. I'm not sure if there's a post limit befor youcan change this or not.

It suddenly appeared !!!

It is set to alow you a custom name after a default number of posts not sure what that is at the moment. We origionally intended to keep that number very high so that most of the forum users names represented their use of the boads but we didnt expect people to post quite as much as you do (you know who you are!).

Looks like that number wasn't set high enough as everyone seems to have a custom title now!

Not everyone *sniff* - or maybe I'm just blind, stupid or both. Where exactly should it appear when I reach this magic number?

Bye,

Joe

It will appear in your user CP under Edit Profile.

I think that the magic number is somwhere around 100 or 130 so you may have a little way to go Mantis.

Mantis
-27th May 2003, 16:33
Thanks. I guessed it might be 100, since I saw someone with a custom status on 109.

Rdb811
-27th May 2003, 17:31
Theres alwalys the Association Game or the I Knoew Aoife threads for getting the numbers up - I think 120 is the critical number.

Hudson
-27th May 2003, 17:35
get involved in any thread with Aofie or Moose and you'll soon reach the target.

Moose

Nah, we just go on til we run out of things to talk about, then we post in the "I know Aoife" thread

Hudson
-27th May 2003, 18:58
good point well made.

Moose
-27th May 2003, 19:03
It's funny because it's true :)

Hudson
-27th May 2003, 19:04
the Association Game is catching up quick for the number of posts though

Moose
-27th May 2003, 20:18
Only cos there are more posters there.

Mantis
-28th May 2003, 15:50
Looks like I was right - 100 for custom satus

Hudson
-28th May 2003, 15:53

Moose
-28th May 2003, 22:39
You can maybe join the 500+ club one day. Tho we'll be the founding members of the 1000+ club by then

Hudson
-28th May 2003, 22:41

Moose
-28th May 2003, 22:50

Hudson
-28th May 2003, 22:51

Moose
-28th May 2003, 22:56

wingnutLP
-29th May 2003, 11:38
think I may move custom status up to 300 just to annoy everyone that has worked so hare to get to 100!!

Then again it may just be encouraging you all?!

Moose
-29th May 2003, 14:09
Can you move it to 1000 to give Hudson and I something to aim for?

Sasori
-29th May 2003, 16:43
I don't understand, I got custom status with much less than 100? Has it been put up?

Moose
-29th May 2003, 16:48
I have a feeling that it used to be 40, but they put it up.

Sasori
-29th May 2003, 16:53
Ah, that makes sense...

Sasori
-29th May 2003, 16:55
But now I can't change it to anything else! Oh well, I'll just have to keep posting...

Till then I can think of something more amusing to use...

oiuyt
-29th May 2003, 17:17
This is why it should be moved DOWN.... having a high threshold just encourages meaningless drivel on the forums. Drop it to 25-30 and it still means that only people who actually use the forum can change it but doesn't encourage posting for the sake of posting.

Or change it to where you need both 30 posts and at least a month on the forum.

-B :)

Moose
-29th May 2003, 20:23
The forums not been open long enough to demand a month.

Cheetara
-29th May 2003, 20:27
How long has it been going?

Moose
-29th May 2003, 20:40
It started at the end of Feb tho only for testing I think. It seemed to go public sometime in April

wingnutLP
-29th May 2003, 23:05
Very good sasori!!

Cheetara
-29th May 2003, 23:17
Thank you I just like to know these things

Rdb811
-30th May 2003, 15:26
Why not REMOVE the custom status after a certain number of posts ?

Hudson
-30th May 2003, 16:09
why not leave it as it is, gives the new members something to aim for and the rest of us just keep posting anyway.

Moose
-30th May 2003, 16:12
Thats not very nice Roger

I think its ok the way it is

Hudson
-30th May 2003, 16:16
if anything the limit should be lowered as people are coming up with some great things to put in their status box

I really had problems being labelled a 'junior member' - it implies I'm some kind of munchkin.

Moose
-31st May 2003, 06:13
I was a junior member once, but that phase quickly passed. <Eyes Roger up> you dont look like a munchkin, I'd say more of an Oopaloopa

Aoife
-31st May 2003, 20:07
Boys, you're waffling again.

I really had problems being labelled a 'junior member' - it implies I'm some kind of munchkin.

Hey! As a munchkin that offends me!

(I'm now considering changing my name to 'Junior Member' again, just for kicks :) )

I'd say a post number of around 150 and a month's membership should be good enough to alter the staus.

Hudson
-31st May 2003, 20:10
no fence in norfolk at my own club, been up and running for about 2 years.

i agree with the idea of a months membership,

bufc99
-1st June 2003, 00:17

I think you have - I was at the first Middlesx Closed about 15 months ago, fencing epee and sabre. I was only fencing epee the next one last November.

Ahh, I am from Thetford (when I am not at university). I was wondering if the club over at the UEA will be running over the summer months and if so is Tuesday the only night the club trains or is it more than once a week??

Does Joyce Rider and Margaret Warner coach over there as I will hopefully be doing some coaching over at Thetford with them?

Hudson
-1st June 2003, 16:38
the Norfolk club meets on a wednesday at the UEA my club meets on tuesday at RAF Coltishall if anyone turns up.

here's the link to the norfolk site

Ahh, what a bummer, your club night unfortunately clashes with the club night of the Thetford club. I'll have a word with the coaches in Thetford to see if it is possible to organise a friendly with your lot over at the UEA, that would be cool!!

Hudson
-1st June 2003, 23:25
sounds good to me, i'll try and my lot from coltishall down for it i think.

Bonzolium
-1st June 2003, 23:40
cool, well I'll see what I can do when I get back home and fencing which should be in 9 days

Moose
-2nd June 2003, 06:29
Well seeing as how Hudson is currently serving his Queen it could be some time before we get to fence against him

Hudson
-2nd June 2003, 08:36
