Aussie commentary is SOOOO much better! BBC are showing it as an example of how it is portrayed differently. hahaha very scathing about Montana's celebration."Wouldn't be surprised to see Luciano Pavarotti come out here.."

And that's it, about 2 mins of fencing, and about 20s of Richard saying he is pleased with how far he got.

Well either way it was what fencing needs!

So thats what we get:

3 points or so, and a micro interview with Kruse... yet they insist on showing other "minority" sports for hours at a time... ho hum.

good on Kruse for the L8.

Darn, I thought it was really quite amusing...

... if the BBC actually used those "commentators", they could actually make fencing quite watchable to the masses (technically a load of rubbish, but really quite entertaining...)

If they used them i don't even think the hardcore fencers would mind!

I missed it. :(

I naively thought that it might get mentioned in the late night highlights - something about the fact that the word 'fencing' appeared in the television listings in the paper. Instead I saw a 5 minute interview with some random Greek reporter who couldn't speak English explaining how the entire population of Greece was upset about the athletics scandal, although I couldn't make out which part exactly.

I'm not happy to think that I wasted an hour and a half thinking maybe it will be on next.

and now, after Kruse made the last 8, the LS coverage has 5 mins as well:

3 points or so (again), big build up commentary, interview with BFA fencing president.

the bbc news report / channel 4 made it out to be 2 huge chances lost....
