I hope you can extend that to contributors who are not your contryment (except when fencing your countrymen of course).

The Fencer's Blessing:

May you get every touch you deserve.

Of course that is also the Fencer's Curse.

Good luck to all our GBR Veterans in Tampa. I had sent a good luck mesage to Dave Sweney the Team Manager and look forward to hearing about our medals.

We just finished our fifth Veterans Challenge Tournament near Boston on September 10-11 for fencers over 40.

We had 43 in Menís Epee, 30 in Menís Foil and 19 in Menís Sabre. There were 21 in Womenís Epee, 25 in Womenís Foil and 11 in Womenís Sabre.

We had 6 fencers from England who stayed over after the Tampa Veterans World Championships the week before: Jim Harris (second here in Foil), Mike Bradbury (third in Epee), Gordon Coombs(eighth in Sabre and oldest competitor), Sylvia Earl (second in Epee), Kate Francis (third in Epee), and Sylvia Brown (fifth in Foil). Sylvia had been one of the 13 from England who were with us after the 2002 Tampa World Vets.

I wondered why Jim didn't finish higher, tough draw!

Gordon's a Truro lad - 8th place at 75 years old in a 40+ event! I hope I'm hal as fit when I'm his age (in about 10 years...)
