You know you want one. ;)

Anybody artistic enough to design one?

Leon Paul?

Would be the obvious people to design, make and sell/distribute them... (at competition/website)

Also, if anyone else did it, LP might get a tad annoyed - since they own "Fencing Forum"...

You could do plain t-shirts with the logo (or another design) on the front and - if people were brave enough - you could print usernames on the back...

Nice idea but I would be too embarrassed to wear one! Loads of people (including myself!) think of the Forum as 'nerdy,' I would get crucified if I was seen wearing one!

Not doing badly with over 300 posts then... ;)

Agreed though, I regularly get "told off" for being here... Still, at least I don't have Haggis' nickname (aka "Internet Fencing Geek")...

I've just ordered a new LP lame with 'MCLEOD GBM' written on the back... and I asked if it was possible to put 'fencingforum.com' below it in small letters! :o:

I already have a t shirt with my avatar on the back - in fact I had it before I came on the forum, it's why I chose this name!
I don't mind wearing it 'in public' at competitons because nobody knows it has anything to do with the forum unless they also read on here, in which case they are just as 'geeky' as me!
It just means that other forumites may identify me and come say hi.
Don't know that I would particularly wear a forum one though, unless it had a particularly good picture / funny tag line that would make it worth buying.

If you jump up and down enough, fence prettily enough, eat chilli, throw in a few 'special' moves and sit under a big flag of your avatar people will eventually know who you are...

As for being nerdy... i couldn't give a monkeys bum what people think

well said. those of us that try to keep a low profile would wear a t-shirt with my forum name on

And what is wrong with being a geek, if it wasn't for geeks most of the technological advances of the past 100 years would never have happened.

It wasn't muscle bound surfer dudes who got a man to the moon. It wasn't waffer thin fashion icons who developed the information superhighway.

Be a forum geek and be proud.

Oooh I feel so proud! ;)
Am I officially a geek now?Is it something to do with the number of posts, or is it as soon as you put your head over the forum parapet?
Please don't get me wrong, I'm not really ashamed of being a member of the forum. If I was I wouldn't give so many clues as to my identity, and I certainly wouldn't wear a picture of my avatar on my back and on the pocket of my breeches.
Just don't know that I'd get a forum shirt, that's all.

Don't think I'd get one unless they had a cool picture on it, or maybe an arty forummy thingy on it.

Could it be incorporated with those "10 Ways To Tell You're A Fencer" which people came up with ages ago? Take 25 of the best ones, print them on the front or back and hey presto, a FencingForum T-Shirt that's interesting...

"^2" is a notation for "squared" (i.e. "ns" squared)

Boo

Tarmac
-28th September 2005, 10:48
the fact that i bothered to do this doesn't help my cause.

0.2164 on the geek scale

but then i did have a sadistic greek maths teacher who thought press ups were more important than maths... so i could be wrong.
<shrugs and goes off to find tea>

after an explination by tarmac (god bless his devon socks)
my geek raiting is around 2.28 (depending on what you class (ns) as?

I think that I may have to revise "Baldrics Geek Quotient Formula"

G = ((n +(ns^2))/(1000-r)) + k

where G = Geek factor
n = number of posts
ns = number of posts using statistics
r = highest ranking in any weapon
k = a constant (1,000,000,000,000,000) which only applies if you are actually sad enough to try and work out your Geek factor!
