FencingForum's best of 2005!

Well it seems that 2005 was a bit of a bumper year for Fencing. More drawn out politics from the FIE, the launch of a decent Internet-only fencing channel and a very good World Championships. As such Leon Paul have got together with www.fencingchannel.tv to allow us to do our very own Oscars ... of sorts.

We'll be having 3 main prize-winning competitions plus a couple of fun ones.

We are looking for your nominations in the following categories. These will be assessed by our expert panel (ok, us; the moderators and our decision is final) and the winners will be announced at the end of February.

Best thread (http://fencingforum.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6494)
Which thread do you think has been the most informative, interesting, or just useful, thread of the last year. The person who started that thread wins 1 world championship DVD of their choice plus 50 of Leon Paul equipment vouchers.

Best contribution (http://fencingforum.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6495)

Who has contributed the most usefully over the last year. Who has said the most interesting things, passed on the most wisdom or been the best commentator? The winner gets a World Championship DVD of their choice plus 25 of Leon Paul vouchers.

Best single contribution (http://fencingforum.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6496)

Which one post or comment, best encapsulates what it means to be part of the 'online' fencing community? Was it advice, sarcasm, hard headed common sense - which post sums it all up? The person making that comment gets a World Championship DVD.

Wooden Spoon (http://fencingforum.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=6498)

This is a bit of fun. Who, which, where, when - is/was the most stupid comment, or overall daftest contributor, of the last year. The winner gets a Leon Paul goodie bag. No one is sure what will be in this bag, but it will be ... interesting.

Now for the fun categories:

There are no awards for these, we are looking to see what you think of following fun topics:

Most important contribution to British Fencing 2005
Most Successful Foilist
Most Successful Epeeist
Most Successful Sabreur
Most important Coach
Most important Fencing moment of 2005
Least important Fencing moment of 2005
