After the bother I went through trying to find contact details for university fencing club email addresses and other contact details (many of those on BFA website don't work/ out of date) I think it would be a good idea if thre was a thread that university fencing clubs could use to quickly get hold of other universities for purposes of organising friendlies, competitions, banter etc as well as for prospective university students to have a point of contact with universities in order to see what their fewncing clubs were like and explore the possibilities of scholarships etc.

I'll go first

Rather than create yet another list, why not stick with the BUSA University Fencing Club guide available on the BUSA webpage?

http://www.busa.org.uk/sport.asp?parent=20010001&section=0001000200010001&sport=20010001003600100002

We're not on the BUSA list, but there's a new club at St. George's Hospital Med School - you know, Tooting?

Anyway, we're part of the University of London - I'm the President, my e-mail address is m0401195@sgul.ac.uk.

We don't have a web site yet, I don't suppose there's anyone out there who would like to design one? My skills in this area are limited...

What I was suggesting is that people list their clubs on the BUSA site - there is an e-mail address and a form to send. Even if you dont have a website, the BUSA list should help people to find out about the club.

I spent a while trying to find such details on the BUSA website for our (now cancelled) competition, not all universities are affiliated with BUSA and many of those that are do not have their details up on the website. The fencing forum has an easy to use interface and many fencers are aware of its existence and where to find certain information. I just thought that creating such a list would widen the access to fencers across universities.

Alas, our quoteboard had to be taken down due to...unusual phrases, but the site's still rather nice.

Queen Margaret University College - Pointless is our webmistress, I'm the club's not-mentioned Member of Student Parliament :) It's long overdue an update, but nobody at the club has regular access to a digital camera :(

Signature says it all. For you local peeps, and anyone else that can be bothered - there's a very limited entry Open Competition being hosted by us.
http://www.ussu.net/fencing/ <-- for peeps that didn't want to see signatures.

I know Michaelwk has already mentioned it, but simply because we swept the awards ceremony yesterday at our Athletic Union Ball (ah, ahead of all of the sports catering to the masses, we stood as the 'tough as nails, bonded together, gonna take the world by storm and shake it like a snowglobe, take no prisioners, we will rock you' club), just to reiterate:

Liverpool Uni Fencing Club! :)

Darned Happy to fence with such a cool group of guys and gals. They are all absolutely ACE! :thumbs_up

We have a brand new website, check it out: http://www.fencing.sgul.ac.uk.

We've just bought 4 spools and 2 boxes, so any fencing club in London (or elsewhere) who'd like to come down to Tooting for a friendly would be very welcome - just PM me.

Very fond of St George's - it's where I had both offspring. Mind you, they also trained my sister as a nurse - and let her qualify. When she was a student she once counted 28 respirations on a dead body (apparently she thought they were a bit shallow and was going to mention it to the doctor).
