Everyone should be entering this tournamnet!! Really good venue with excellent food (proof of which can be found in previous threads about Wrexham competitions!) and fun event! Information at http://www.leonpaul.com/lpjs/lpjs_entry_forms.htm !

For that matter, which of the U15 girls are entering for this round ? Any chance that the organisers of this competition could do as the Eton club did, and have a rolling list of entries please ?

Would love to be able to but just a bit too late agewise, 15 as of 01/01/2007.

Maybe if there's an U-17 event next year!

Could someone please clarify the correct postcode for the venue?

Looking at the Wrexham LPJS entry form, it's LL13 0NE.

On the Wrexham Open form, which says it's at the same venue, it's LL12 0EN.

When you find it (the Leisure Centre) on the web, it's LL12 0DL.
On multimap, that's on the Chester Road near Rossett, and is the postcode I shall give to Tom Tom to get us there, unless I hear differently :)

I got lost going to Wrexham last year after setting LL13 0NE in my Sat Nav, only to turn up at a Village 10 miles south of Wrexham some ten minutes before check-in time.

I have always thought I must have entered the wrong post code until I read Lynne's post, and now it's finally dawned on me that they have the wrong post code on the entry forms.

Full credit to the organizers though - they called me on my mobile at check-in time to ask if we were still coming. When I told them of my predicament, they guided me in and said they would wait for us! How many organizers would do that, so full marks to Wrexham!

Anyway, to anyone going to Wrexham, the correct post code is LL12 0DL, ignore anything with a 3 or an E in it!

We've got a handy little thing that sits in the car called a Map Map.

That means trusting Son Son to read it the right way up!

Had the same problem two years ago when I put the postcode in on Streetmap. But handy thing Streetmap you can enter the road and knowing the town then it was easy to find. Also most route finders use streets as well as postcodes. [There again our home postcode works but the street name does not.] Route maps are greater for daughter number 2 to act as navigator on trips, also identifies pit stops and cameras.

Just shows an over reliance on computers etc. we lose the basic skills.

Don't mind driving. Don't mind map reading. Don't like having to do both at the same time, especially with other people's children in the vehicle. :(

You'd think they'd have got the postcode right by now, it's only been at least two years (including the Wrexham Open)...

Having attended the event for the thrid year in a row it's great to see the number of fencers competing increasing. The Wrexham Club people did well to cope.

I would ike to pass on special thanks to the Sports Hall staff, notably the lady who attended to number one fencer's injury sustained in her last poule match. Unfourtunately this led to her haveing to scratch but otherwise it was a good day.

Also of note was that with increased numbers this did not seem to affect standard of presiding. I would like to say that the gentleman, I belive this was Valerius, presiding the two poules where my daughter fenced was excellent and took time to pass on advice.

Look forward to Wrexham next year.

Wrexham Fencing Club just want to thank everyone for coming up and taking part in the Leon Paul competition. It is the fencers who make the day a success and without them it wouldn't be worth turning up. Thanks also to the parents for behaving themselves and especially to all those who ref'd on the day, probably the hardest job, especially those roped in to help, thinking they were just bringing a competitor.

how did Dieppe go?

good, I won and James.b came third again, other Brits entered but I don't know where they came. I had to fight my semi-final twice because the box was sabre, as you can imagine, I wasn't happy. After originaly winning 8-4 I then won 8-1!
Is George going to Scotland?

I've not found any problem with this - of the two sets of results I've sent in, one has been up the next day and the other about 3 days after the comp.

It took about three weeks for the results to be posted for the LPJS Wellington Epee, and they were almost completely wrong! Still are.....
