View Full Version : Forum down time :(

Hi all,

Sorry for all the down time recently. We have been battling for the last few days with our hosts to try to find out what caused the crash on Tuesday.

The database became heavily corrupted and they were unable to explain to us what happened. We only lost a few hours worth of posts when we reverted to a backup.

Sorry for the problems.

Fingers crossed we should be OK now...

Alex

We have been missing having access to the Forum. Glad you are back (at least for now).
I think alas most of us have come accross such situations in the past.
Hopefully it is now all sorted. I have to say though that it took rather a long time for the system to log me in.

Perhaps you are checking things out at the moment but the system appears to be responding definitely slowly at the moment..

Seems fine now, no problems logging in, reading the various threads, and posting.

Hope your gremlins have been well and truly banished!

WELCOME BACK!!!!

Hi. Anyone know how (and why) my avatar's changed from an Irish flag to a Scottish one? How can I get it back?

Some of the avatars changed when the forum switched to the new format, ah well...

To get your waving Irish flag back try this:

1. Go to User CP

2. Under Settings & Options click Edit Avatar

3. In the Custom Avatar box enter this url: http://www.lakehotel.com/IMAGES/ireland%20flag.gif

4. Now click Save Changes

5. ...and Bob's your Auntie's live-in lover :)

bit random, but i seem to have got a PM that was intended for someone else... forum problems, or just the wrong icon clicked?

i only ask because the forum is being weird, like saying i have to change my password before i can post, but then i can post anyway. Plus a message box thing popped up and was gone before i could actually read it. Anyway...

I'm finally getting email notifications of threads again, but the links contained in those emails reference the IP address of the site rather than the domain name, which causes problems with cookies :(

I've said this in the another thread but i'm having huge pm problems too. All the pms that I had in folders are now in my sent items (my folders have been deleted) and have aparently been sent by me. When I click on my username to view the profile it seems to go to totally random profiles (not even the persons who I sent the message to and not mine either!). Hope an admin can sort this as when I send a message it's going to the right place (sent message folder) but all the messages I had before the upgrade have been moved into the sent message folder. It doesn't seem that anyone else has this problem :(

Now, when attempting to change my signature, I get a message saying:

-------

"You have included 2 images in your message. You are limited to using 1 images so please go back and correct the problem and then continue again.

Images include use of smilies, the vB code [img] tag and HTML <img> tags. The use of these is all subject to them being enabled by the administrator."

--------

NB i have no such html or vB code img tags in my signature

in order to try to prevent the massive signatures full of smiles, imageds and lots of lines of text we limited it to one smile or image. Ypu need to remove all of the extra images or stick with your current sig I am afraid...

Spotted a little error - was just browsing the 'guides' from the link at the top. When you try to open the coaching guide the link sends you to the buyers guide instead.
