Has anyone else had a completely wasted journey into Brixton today to find the Leisure Centre Closed ???? Can't think we were the only ones to enter in good time, sending a cheque as instructed to Marek, only to find that the date and the venue had been changed within the last few days.

Six hours later, and several traffic jams, our sense of humour is having somewhat of a failure

Sorry, I think I may have put this in the wrong section, new to site !!

Just noticed though, it still says 17/6/07 on this calender, so not going completely mad, anyway, not yet at least

Looks like it and the Cauchard cup (cancelled) are on Today's events on the main forum page..

It is always difficult when venues/dates change but it is so essential for organisers to double & triple check all the entries know about the change.

I know Andy Reynolds phoned/email everyone who had entered the Cauchard Cup to let them know it had been cancelled. Takes time, but has to be done.

Don't worry about it I've moved your thread.

They had to move it as the venue was closed for refurbishment. It was changed on the calender here:

and here:

The printed calendar is always done at the start of the year and thing inevitably change throughout the year. Very sorry for you waisted journey as, I am sure are the organizers.

You can find out more information here:

Congratulations to the committee running the event, really good going. It is great to see so many parents from Brixton Club help run these events. A couple of Computer glitches which caused a couple of re-draws, but no real big problems.

Much better venue than previous Brixton events, can we stay at this new venue?

Yes, very well run , well done to all.

Echo the venue sentiment - can we stay here for competitions?

Any results anywhere - can't see any on the BFC site?
