Could anybody please tell me if the Leicestershire LPJS scheduled for this w/end is happening?
There has been nothing said on the forum at all about this tournament.

Is it that unpopular? and what are the entry numbers normally like?

Why would not being mentioned on the forum mean that it's unpopular? Contrary to popular belief of forumites, NOT everybody in the fencing world belongs to it - indeed, the majority don't.

Just returned from the Leicester LPJS and it was a very well supported, well run, well refereed event. As usual the U15 boys event produced some exceptional fencing, as did the U13 girls. Well done to Max and Steph who won these events. Would like to make a special mention of Sam Ridley who volunteered to referee the U15 boys - he did this with great maturity. Great to see everyone again and we are looking forward to Durham.

Having attended leicester for the past four years I must admit that this was about the best so far. Considering there were 27 entries for the U13 girls things went extremely smoothly.

Congratulations to the organisers and all involved.

Special thanks to Andrew, the armourer, having my youngest daughter watching him all day and not missing a beat.

Good luck to those taking part Sunday.

He He Just went early to get two days worth of the fab food that they always lay on. (good enough excuse ?)

Well done to Sam for his win, a pleasure to watch an exciting and well mannered bout.

OK - we went early too, but made to feel like part of the Leicester family, and a big thanks to those who helped us find a hotel on a very busy weekend!! Great competition, great food, thanks to Audrey who must have been up all night "buttering" (don't forget my chocolate fix for next year...).
Wonderful turnout of U15 boys Sat and U13 boys Sun - brilliant show of cameraderie all weekend, nice to come home with the gold again !!
PS - Chip ask Goodwood about Alton Towers - wonderful place to visit....

A good day's competing today. Well done all U11 girls, some great fencing on display, especially in the later stages.
Thank you to the organisers for the warm welcome and the lovely food available! Also, a big thanks for the idea to give photos to all medallists. What a nice touch and greatly appreciated (especially by mums who forget to take their camera... :o ).

I thought that the competition was a good one, propbably one of the best, but i really hate it when ref's give you yellow cards for tripping over peoples feet. Well done to all of the winners! Now looking forward to Durham!

Anyone in particular Sam?

Who won the U-13 boys?

Who won the U-13 boys?

From the "well done George" comment - I suggest it may have been George Hendrie? I only refereed one pool (and lost the ability to add up) but he seemed to be fencing well as I glanced at the other pools.

No, actually, I won, George came 3rd along with Reuben and Kristjan came
2nd.

PLEASE READ THE THREAD on Armoury& Equipment - thanks to Coup Lance for this warning. Thanks also for your reffing at the weekend, I'm sure we all learned a lot from you, parents and fencers alike.

I got some results, but need the rest for training tonight so all the kids who went get their round of applause. Who is likely to have them all, so that I can e-mail and grovel? :)

Been a week now - surely the organizers must have posted the results somewhere? Anyone know where they can be found?

If they have been posted anywhere, I can't find them.

However, they spent months organising the event, we can wait a few days more for the results if needs be.

If my mole in East Mids comes up with the goods, I will post them here.

1st Maxton Millner

Just to be a pedant, Milner is spelt with 1 'L'. Also, Sam Ward came 3rd in the u-15 boys as well as M. Fitton.

Would like to see the results entered on the ranking lists please.
It has been a while now... doesn't appear to have been done since the Cornwall results in July.
As it is getting towards the end of the season, with just two foil fixtures to go it would be nice to see how things are panning out.
Pretty please.:)

too late to edit..
Having just read another thread it appears that the fault may lie with the organisers failing to pass on the information. After all the organisation put into the competition, this seems one of the easiest jobs to do.....
What a shame. :(

I received the results about 30 mins ago. They are in Open Office format, which my elderly Excel 97 is refusing to read, so am downloading Open Office at the moment.

The email was also copied to LP, so they should get them in the morning. The organisers have had some IT problems.

Ok people are here before me.......

As you may know I have the file in an .ods format so I cannot open them I guess that Baldric is well ahead of me and will let me know the results..... :not_worth

You may even get some positive "you know what" points coming your way.
