http://www.britishfencing.com/events...s_and_courses/

With the demise of the National Academy, the 2nd Cohort of AASE fencers are having their summer course in Szombathely, Western Hungary. It is fortunate that this fantastic fencing camp opportunity coincides with the dates originally earmarked for the Academy camp.

Because they will be travelling by coach to Hungary, there is the opportunity for other fencers and coaches to accompany the trip, Please see the above link for all the details.

I have taken groups to Szombathely twice over the past 5 years and it is a truly international experience. It is the only camp I have ever seen where there were 84 women's foilists to train with, about 140 men's foilists and similar numbers in the other weapons.

The concept is obviously different to the Academy Camp in that the focus is on fencing and sparring opportunities rather than S&C and education. Though there will be coaching for the AASE fencers from the AASE
Assessors and there is the chance to organise private lessons from the, mainly Hungarian, coaches at the camp.

Obviously the person to contact about practical issues is Neil Brown, but if you want to ask about the set up or suitability of the camp for you or your fencers then feel free to contact me by PM or by email on psibert-at-gmail-dot-com.

Take a look at the document "Ten Days in Hungary" on this link for a report which appeared in The Sword of my first visit to the Camp.
