Online entry now available here.
The closing date has been extended to THURSDAY 10TH OCTOBER.
Another bump. Keep the entries coming!
"Where you are" - English.
"Where you are at" - US slang.
I clarified this with BF after cesh and a couple of others brought this up about the Bedford Open Epee. This is the correct page (it was updated following my query).
You have to have a French licence to get a ranking. Everybody gets points, not just the L64.
Time for a bump.
I should also add that there is no extra charge for entering the Bedford Open online. The cost is the same whether you enter by post or online.
The competition is on the 13th October, so the age limit is 1st January 2014.
Details and entry for this year's Bedford Epee are now available here. Any problems, please let me know.
I was merely stating my point of view that major competitions are now too big to be 6W events and that for a more efficient competition single-weapon (M&F) events are far better.
In answer to your...
You can then be really sad and use it so you can look out of the window to watch the flight you're going to take the following day fly over... which, of course, I've never done...
Some would say that perhaps running a 6W competition is no longer the way to go.
I've never really understood how this was supposed to be the case.
I'm not sure how many GB fencers are...
There was a fencing exhibition at the Petit Palais to coincide with the 2010 World Championships. They had some film of a bunch of kids doing mini-fence. It was 6-aside, and on "play" these kids...
Hang on a minute... Actually, I was thinking DEs too. I don't know where you get this "4 or 5" fights figure for the L128. It's at most 3.
Even so, with that many poules and just two events a staggered start is no catastrophe. Like you say, it's when you start putting multiple weapons on the same day that you start getting delays and...
OK, I stand corrected if there weren't that many pistes. Last time I was there they had 4 halls, so I quite thought there was room for at least 25.
I'd be surprised if they didn't have enough to run the whole ME and WE events, without any of the other weapons, with one wave of poules and finish at a reasonable hour.
This actually ties in quite nicely with the Bristol Open thread. BF should be concentrating on things closer to home and sorting out the domestic circuit first. If BF and Beazley put their minds to...
If memory serves, places like the EIS and Birmingham do. Anyway, 40 pistes is clearly an exaggeration for a GB competition. Just looking back at this year's numbers and 25 pistes would give you...
The staggered entry really isn't necessary. It was a fad that came in to try to make competitions look more like the ones on the Continent. It didn't work. If you have 40 pistes that means you can...
No. Firstly, 2-tier events aren't necessary for events with less than 300 fencers (I wish people would stop running the ones that have pre-qualifying in the morning). Secondly, few are going to...
The ".it" should be a bit of a give-away when it comes to deciding if there is any bias in this article...
Can I get a refund, seeing as I'm unable to use the site?
