The real question though, will you be showing the tennis?
"Hard to understand" is not the same as "putting off audiences".
There is an assumption that the reason fencing is unpopular is because its hard to understand, but how are we sure that's true?
I've got a novel idea.
How about we train fencers who actually have well rounded technical and tactical games rather then just telling them that sabre is all about "go forward as fast as you can...

Credit where due though, they did try actively to get referees.
I and several others would have been there refereeing had we not, unfortunately, already been engaged elsewhere.
