Funny to see guys taking lessons without mask on. I thought they were meant to wear full fie kit at all time this year...
Honeybone through to 32
And out to Rousset in last 32

I think this falls into the encouraging category. Hopefully we will see better results at the major championships in 2013 and onwards.

Anyone got the final scores and positions of the Brits?

I think you're right Keith! Encouraging, but everyone could have gone a stage further with more clinical finishing.
Should mention Anthony's genuinely unlucky L96, where at 14-all he attacked Igoe, and hit him on the chest, but no light came up. Couldn't find an equipment fault, and the American's light had to stand.
With reference to masks - at world cups in sabre nearly all the Italians, and all the Russians and Chinese take lessons without masks, as well as some others like the Georgians.
On my signal UNLEASH AL...!

Top level fencers need to look cool and dangerous though.
"The goal is to win, but it is the goal that is important, not the winning"

It is obligatory for any fencer who warms up or trains with another fencer or who takes a
lesson on site at an official FIE competition (including in the training halls linked to the
competition) to wear fencing clothing and equipment which conforms with the FIE regulations.
Any other person giving a lesson must wear at least a fencing master's plastron, as well as a
fencing glove and a mask conforming to the regulations
