    Default Oxfam Open Returns!

    Hey All,

I'm trying to restart the Oxfam Open event that you may remember from a few years ago. The event was a great success, raising thousands of pounds for Oxfam. Unfortunately, after two years the venue came under new management and the set up became nonviable. However, having found a new venue we're hoping to run on the 26th/27th of October, looking at a two weapon format (Foil/Sabre). Any comments/ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated.

I hope you able to support the event!

Venue is in Cardiff again - on the M4 so not too bad for most people in the South.

Sufficient decent referees is a must - the problem we have is that every £ spent is a £ that doesn't go to Oxfam, Have to strike the balance between running a good event (and hopefully make it more successful in future years) and raising a decent amount for charity. Hoping that some will be willing to help out for expenses and cake (volunteers please drop me a line: info@russellswords.com)!

If I am free that weekend, I would be happy to referee. Just need a little petrol money and cups of tea.

No need! We can all just pretend to be sabreurs for the day and ruin the competition for the full time sabbies. They love it when we do that.
    Épée-n in the leg.
