Default Nostalgia post - wondering about my first coach

A fit of nostalgia led to me remembering my first fencing coach, Bill Tomlinson, and wondering what happened to him. He was a great gruff Yorkshireman with a permanent twinkle in his eye. He coached me at the University Of Leeds between 1987 and 1993, but he coached at various other places in Yorkshire too. Anyone know anything?

Yes, he lives just down the road from me and I bump in to him occasionally. He was one of my coaches many years ago and also at Sheffield Uni when I used to go there using my Lifetime Student Union card.

His son, John, is Electoral Services Manager here in Sheffield and I see him more regularly.
A problem shared is one more person to laugh at you.
