    Default Hello, I'm new here

I have never done fencing before but I really want to try it. Where should I start? How can I find a fencing club or private lessons? Thanks.

    Hi

You should be able to find a club on http://britishfencing.com/clubs/find-a-club/ these are all properly affiliated clubs and should be able to give you a good introduction. Most clubs will offer beginner's courses which are a great introduction and it means you won't be starting on your own, it isn't compulsory though.

If you give us some idea of location someone can probably recommend a local club to you.

    Default Returning to fencing

    Hey all,

I used to fence whilst at uni, and I posted around here a fair bit too (User:Aer) but the memory is going with far too many on call shifts, so I have literally no idea what my old email was for this forum, let alone the password.

I've decided to try and get back into fencing - and I've moved from Scotland to the North West. Been struggling to find a Foil club in these parts - any ideas for North Manchester/Blackburn area clubs? Have Car, Will travel...

We do a bit of foil in Liverpool fencing club, west lancs also have some foil in Ormskirk, as regards Manchester I would recommend Marshall fencing, they have some foillists there and a great foil coach in Steve Glaister. If I remember correctly Stu Marshall is on here as Kingbob. but I could be wrong.

    Thanks, will check that out.

I've noticed that inflation seems to have hit fencing kit a fair amount since I last bought any!

    Default Fencing documentary

Hi there, I'm new here. I've got an interest in athletic performance and recently made a short documentary on fencing. Specifically GBR fencer & U23 British Champion Kamal Minott. I'm trying to get it out to as many fans of the sport and thought a fencing forum might be a good place to share it. Apologies if this is perceived as spamming, I genuinley want it to be of interest. Anyway, here it is - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=firybFwm5lA

    Cheers, Nat
