    Default welovefencing.com has launched

    Hello everyone,

Just a quick email to let you know that we've launched welovefencing.com for fencing fans who want to find all the information they need about live links and live results all in one place. We couldn't find them anywhere else so we thought we'd do it!

We are a bunch of volunteers with a bit of a geeky interest in the sport due to either having fenced ourselves and/or having children who are doing it now. Basically we love the sport but we will always look for support from the community, hence this post!

Our group intend to search the web ahead of each weekend of international fencing action (cadet, junior and senior) and provide links to all the live results feeds and live streams that we can. We've also decided to write reports on all senior World Cups and Grand Prix that we can watch live....well live on the web anyway!

As we're sure you know, finding links is not always easy so please add any that you see on this thread to help us out.

We'd also love your feedback on our site so we can make it as good as we can. We haven't got any funding so we're trying to keep costs down so please take account of that. Of course, we'd be interested to hear from anyone that wants to fund us!!

All our contact details are on the site and rest assured we're not trying to sell you anything. We're not even collecting email addresses! We've all got full time jobs so don't have the time or ambition to do that and are just doing this for fun.

We hope you like the site.

    Cheers,
    welovefencing.com

    Hi There,

Who's running the site? Just asking out of curiosity.

Also I'd suggest you post on fencing.net as well.

Thanks for the fencing.net suggestion. We'll get to that later today.

We're a bunch of ex-fencers and fencing mums and dads who are mostly still involved in the sport through our children. We've decided to remain anonymous for two reasons:

    1. We want to write our senior world cup and grand prix reports independently without retribution. That's not to say that we are going to go out of our way to upset anyone. However we do want to use words like "thrashing" (when one fencer beats another 15-2) or "dubious" when referring to a referee decision etc. and;
    2. We felt that we'd be able to encourage more contributors to the site if they knew their identities were going to be protected.

We hope that you understand our position. The most important thing for us is to provide a web resource which makes it easier for fencing fans to get the information that they need all in one place. All feedback and advice will be well received to help us get it right for the fencing community.

    Cheers,
    welovefencing.com

A couple of us have listened to the last couple of your podcasts and we like them a lot. Let us know if there is any way that we can support you. If you tag us in your Tweets advertising upcoming broadcasts we'd be happy to share them.

    Hi,

Just a comment on the website, and for what it's worth, I'd say it's clean, well put together, easy to navigate and looks professional - everything a good website should be.

    Nice work!
