Correct me if I'm wrong but did Anstett just bring it back from 23-40 to 45-44 to take France through to the 8.

    National hero of France?

Yep, and against the European Champion, no less.
    Legion d'honneur surely?

edit: Actually that's recorded wrong, it was 40-27 starting score so only 18-4 - can watch it on the video until they cut the live stream off and it truncates. Nothing else to watch as they've put the MST L8 in the other hall for some unknown reason in favour of the WF!

edit2: it's about -50 minutes on the red piste right now:

The Iranians are doing really well at the moment. I got to watch Pakdaman at work close up and was quite impressed.

Both MST semi-finals went to 44-44 - amazing drama at the end.
Daryl Homer came all the way back from 42-44 down then just got blocked out in the final hit.
Szilagy brought at least a 4-hit defecit back for that win, he is just SO good under pressure.

If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”

About the same thing happened in a local team sabre match in Southern California years ago....a legend for the older sabeurs around here.

My local football team once beat our rivals 7-1. It's legendary amongst people who were in those teams and the referee.

It is when you consider the teams were not at the same competitive level as those fencing FIE events.

Coming back from being down 40-20 to win is impressive at ANY level.

    Hey Gav

As you know, I'm a foilist through and through, regarding Epee for Neanderthal's only.

However, having watched your favorite man (Heinzer) in the MET semi against Hungary, I might convert. As Epeeist's go, the guy is definitely out to lunch!!!

    Loved it!
