    Default body checking

    Is this a thing at some levels? That is body checking a fleching opponent.

    I fleche a fair bit and I never collide with my opponent unless we coincidentally go at the same time. In the poules this weekend I fleched and then got sent tumbling to the floor and took a heavy knock to my leg in the process. I was pretty surprised as it's never happened before but realised that it would only take a relatively subtle movement by the defender that's hard to spot by the ref. I didn't protest and took the apology at face value. But I've been wondering...

    Yes, it's a thing. One that referees should look out for.

    Thanks Mavis,

    The lesson I've learnt is that next time I'll protest it to the ref to at least act as a deterrent to a reoccurrence even if it was accidental.
