On 4th March, staff from the NHSBSA (my workplace) are taking part in a sponsored walk around Penshaw Woods (approx 3hrs), then I am teaching them how to fence and hosting a mini-competition. They've never fenced before so it will be an experience!
This will be all in aid of the Alice Ruggles Trust. Alice was a friend of mine at university and a keen fencer at BUCS and often did opens too. She was sadly murdered after being stalked by her ex-partner in 2016. The trust aims to promote awareness of stalking and to prevent this happening again in future.
I hope you will consider giving generously or share this post amongst friends.

I have merged these three threads. I do understand the wish to be seen especially when for a good cause. Can forum users please resist the temptation and post in a single forum.
🤺 Dutch filmmakers are producing a fencing film! 🤺
The short film Dubbel D (Double D) tells the story about 13-year old Puck who is confronted by her changing body that starts to develop more traits associated with femininity at a fencing camp, she is forced to reevaluate the relationship she has to her body.
It will be a very personal film, because the director is a fencer herself. Fencing will be a great motive in the film. Besides that, fencing is not a common subject in filmmaking history. We wanted to make a change and show people how beautiful the sports is by sending the film to different film festivals across the world.
Unfortunately, filmmaking can’t be free. Want to help us make this short film, and get it to screens near you (or get a link so you can see the film)? Support
us through a small contribution via https://www.voordekunst.nl/projecten/6746-dubbel-d
Thanks to the joys of The Beast from the East and the joys if the Great British weather, the sponsored walk and fence for the Alice Ruggles Trust has been postponed twice now!
We're now hoping for 3rd time lucky on 29th April!
Please give generously if you haven't done so already.
