    Default RIP William Hobbs

I see that William Hobbs has died. Not been able to find out much about his passing (it seems to have gone unheralded) but I'd consider him one of the best sword choreographers working in the film industry.

He was at Swash and Buckle fencing club for many years. I used to fence there in the early 90ís. He was a lovely man, used to smoke a fair bit I seem to remember. He was offered the Zorro film but turned it down as he didnít like flying. I hadnít realised that he had died. Sad.

Yeah it's sad. I couldn't find an obit for him, I think he's largely forgotten now.

Never actually met the man, although I admired his work.
Had the privilege of doubling for him at the Central School when he was off doing The Three Musketeers in Spain.

A great loss. An amazing man and a gentleman of the old school. I had the pleasure to know him and fence with him.
