It seems the town of Spokane in the states has resorted to blowing up it's pest ground squirrels using fuel-air explosions!

    Some Magpies
    1 or more urban foxes
Hate to tell you but (and again excepting the girls in the SU) magpies and squirrels are two of the main reasons for the reduction in wildlife, at least of the little bird variety. Both will "harvest" little birds' nests for eggs and chicks to feed to their own young. Little birds will try very hard not to reveal the location of their nests by not going back to them while magpies (or jays, or crows) are watching, but eventually they're forced to go back or let the chicks starve.

    Sorry about that...

On the plus side, there are considerably fewer magpies in our vicinity thanks to (a) an open licence on them and (b) telescopic sights and a good air rifle. Corresponding increase in volume and types of little birds over the last couple of years has been AMAZING!
The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.

Arghhhh a new species is highlighted, and they've already tried to kill the biologist who discovered them.

They are officially vermin, aren't they? You can certainly kills the spooky bastards if you want to. And can. Whenever I get one in my sights it looks at me with its beady birdy eye and b*ggers off. They know.

Border Collie let out of the door = one terrified Tree Rat in next door garden - 15-0 and the GTR is out of the comp.

If it's not a Border Collie it's just a dog!

Seems as though the bushy tailed menace has now embraced a new level of warfare...

May need more than a collie to protect us from this new breed, as the streets are no longer safe for us to walk...
